Blueberries

It's approaching berry season in Ontario and the grocery stores are filled with sweet, juicy berries of every variety. Ian has taken a special liking to blueberries. I make sure to halve or quarter them before tossing them on his tray but he gobbles them up as quickly as I can slice them. The last couple of days he's had odd clumps in his diaper and only this morning did I realize what the clumps are: blueberry skins. Since the poor guy doesn't have any teeth with which to chew, he basically just smushes the berries in his gums and swallows them. Evidently a 10 month old's digestive system is a little immature still and can't digest blueberry skins (though I haven't checked my own waste recently to see if my digestive system is working at it's full potential) so they've been coming out in his diaper. At least all the blueberry seeds are keeping him regular.

Addie too!!!
I don't worry about cutting them, as the ones we have here are about pea size, and not much larger. It took 24 hours for me to realize what to feed her if she was a little irregular. Works like a charm!
