Senior Kindergarten

Much to my surprise, Shaun was actually excited for his first day of Senior Kindergarten today. He still goes in the afternoon from 12:40 to 3:10 every day but this year he's started with a different teacher than the one he had last year. Reason being because the school hasn't been given the official OK from the school board to add another class so all the children that would be in the new class are now spread out among the other three classes. Each class can have a maximum of 19 children in it and Shaun's class today had 20. His teacher told us that it's pretty much 99% that there will be another class formed, in which case he'll move to the teacher he had last year, who has already been noted in all the paperwork we received today as having 2 classes. Other children whose Mom's I spoke to today have been told their children will be in the new afternoon class once it forms. I don't understand all the red tape but as long as Shaun heads back to the teacher and classmates he's familiar with, it's no biggie.

Do you think he was excited to head out today?!

My dumb internet is giving me issues and not loading the picture! I'll come back and check it out another time. I'm glad he's excited for school, always makes things a little easier, on EVERYONE!

And Pierce's class situation is somewhat a mess too. He's in the new full-day program and I think because of that we've had a HUGE enrollment of kids this year. Currently there are two classes (split SK/JK). Pierce's class has 31, and the other class has 30. There are 2 teachers in each class so the cap is 28 I think. A note came home yesterday stating that the board has made them add another class (which I'm glad about, 31 kids is WAY too much), a new teacher has been hired, and some of the kids from each of the 2 classes will be moved into the new class to create 3 classes. I was totally cool with that because I was hoping Pierce would be moved. While I liked his one teacher (the ECE), I am not fond at all of the other one (she was Kaia's teacher last year). The note said we would find out before the weekend, and his one teacher called last night to tell me Pierce would be staying in his current class. Bummer!

So is this the longest comment or what?!!
